Neowin.net posted a few great videos of a Windows 8 demo that shows off new background colors, mouse gestures, and, Microsoft Music.
Windows 8 CES demo part 1
This video demos Windows 8′s new dynamic Start screen. You get to see how to re-arrange it, zoom in and out, and easily pan left or right.
They show off the Cut the Rope game that was written as an app for Windows 8 in pure HTML 5. The Microsoft App Store is shown with an estimated audience of 500 million to 1.25 billion potential users once it’s open.
The new dynamic lock screen is demonstrated and shows of how you can see how many emails or IMs you have without unlocking the PC.
The last feature they show on this video is how the old desktop looks and how to use it. They show that with Excel.
Windows 8 CES demo part 2
The second part of this demo shows off an in-depth look at Windows 8 Charms. They show how you will change settings, and Picker the metro way to browse files and folders.
Search is demonstrated a little more. You really get to see how broad and useful the new Windows 8 search features are. During the search demo you get a look at the new re-sizable on-screen keyboards available in Windows 8.
They show off the new metro version of Internet Explorer 10. They also show off something that was bothering me for a while. How to close Windows 8 apps without using the Task Manager.
At first I wasn’t too sure about Windows 8. After seeing this demo I think they are on to something.
